Lesson Packages: (a way to save money!)
I have many students who prefer to purchase their lessons in packages, to save some money on the total cost of lessons over time. Thus, the pricing for lesson packages is 20% off the total, and payment for lesson packages must be made at the first lesson of the package.
If you'd like to book a lesson package, please send me a message via this website's "Contact" form, so that I can get your package set up and scheduled.

What makes you a qualified voice teacher?
I have a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Voice Performance and Opera, and over 10 years of continuous performing and teaching experience. Although I don't have a degree in Music Education, like a public school music teacher would, I have been a student of many of the world's most successful and respected voice teachers. Through my extended observation of their lessons with other students, as well as intensive individual study with them, I have learned not only how to improve my own singing, but also how to teach and transmit this same information in various ways, to benefit students of all voice types, ages, and abilities. Also, unlike traditional music education majors, I am a professional working soloist, which means that I am continuously training, and thus continuously learning and improving my skills. This gives me access to the latest information in voice science and trends in the music business, and allows me to pass this knowledge onto you, which helps you to be more competitive, should you want to pursue singing more seriously.
What styles of singing do you teach?
I teach a healthful, classical singing technique, based largely on the principles of Bel Canto, as the basis for learning how to sing. This knowledge of how to access resonance, manage breath, and produce various colors and volumes of sound is the basis upon which we will build additional skills, specific to singing in various styles. I currently have students who are learning how to sing Pop, Musical Theater, Classical, Indie, Jazz, and Folk music.
How can I pay for my lessons?
I accept Venmo, Zelle, Paypal, Cash, and Personal Checks- whatever is easiest for you!
If you are paying for a lesson package, then I ask that you pay for the whole package at the first lesson of that package.

How do I know if I'd benefit from lessons? At what age should I begin?
If you love to sing, you can take lessons. I teach students of all ages, and have taught students as young as 9 years old (normally the youngest that I'd recommend as a beginner, since there's a necessary attention span that's necessary for lessons), and as old as 75 years old. Everyone can improve their singing voice with regular lessons that focus on learning technique to eliminate unconscious vocal habits which are most likely inhibiting their singing to some degree.
Because I want to make sure that you'll enjoy your lessons with me, I offer a free 30-minute consultation to every new student, where we meet one another, you sing a little, and then we talk about goals and what you imagine your vocal journey to look like, and how we can achieve that. This way you can become familiar with how I teach before you sign up for lessons.

How often can I practice?
I recommend that a beginning student practice no more than 15 minutes at a time, twice a day, if you're strictly working on technique. For more advanced students you can increase this to 15 minutes three times a day, and for professional level students, you can sing up to 2 hours a day at one time, after you've built the stamina required over a longer period of time (think 6 months to a year, or longer, depending on your voice, your fitness level, and your daily vocal practice regimen).
Do I need to have access to a piano?
No. While a piano is certainly helpful to have, or even a small electric keyboard, there are enough ways to learn music nowadays which don't require you to own or have access to a piano. There are a number of good, free, or moderately-priced piano apps, which make having a real piano virtually unnecessary.
What happens if I have to miss a scheduled lesson? Do you offer makeup lessons?
Yes, I do offer makeup lessons, because they keep you on the path to healthful singing!
This is how it works:
If you cannot attend your scheduled lesson time, I ask that you provide me with at least 24 hours notice via email.
If you do not notify me, you will still be charged for that lesson, even though you cannot attend, and this lesson will not be eligible to be made up. However, I offer everyone one 'unexcused' absence, where a missed lesson without adequate notice can still be rescheduled.
If you do notify me, I will offer you a makeup lesson to reschedule the lesson that you had missed. These will be scheduled individually.

Will you hold my lesson slot if I'm going on vacation?
I will hold your lesson slot for 3 weeks, but if your vacation is longer than this, you'll have to be okay with potentially having a different slot when you return, as I cannot hold a slot indefinitely.
What if you have to cancel my lesson?
From time to time I may have schedule conflicts which necessitate the canceling of students' lessons, however, I will always reschedule your lesson, and try to find another suitable time that works for both of us. However, I only teach at times where I normally would not have rehearsals or performances, so this will not happen often.
Can parents observe their child's lesson?
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, parents are welcome to observe their child's lesson, since all lessons are virtual and therefore will be taking place online at your home.
Prior to the pandemic:
Since I teach from my home, all parents who want to wait, are welcome to do so on my sofa, while their child takes their voice lesson. If you'd like to observe you can do so quite easily because my studio has french doors, which enables a parent to observe without being in immediate proximity to the student while they're taking their lesson, which I find is oftentimes more of a hindrance than a help. If you'd like to drop off your child, that's fine too- whatever works for you.

Do you have recitals at the end of the year?
My membership in the New Jersey, Lehigh Valley, and Eastern Region NATS chapters can give you the opportunity to perform in many different formats, such as Masterclasses, Recitals, and Competitions.
Currently, I do not hold studio recitals to showcase my students solely, but if there is enough interest, I will organize a recital where each person who wants to perform in front of an audience will have the opportunity to do so.

Do you have Parent/Teacher conferences?
If you'd like to talk with me about your own progress, or about your child's progress- if they're the one taking lessons, I am more than happy to talk with you at a time that's convenient for both of us about whatever questions or concerns you may have.
What if I don't want to continue lessons?
You may cancel your lessons at any time, for any reason. If you have prepaid for a lesson package in which not all of your lessons have been used up, then I will refund you 50% of the cost of your remaining lessons.
If you have borrowed scores or other materials from me to supplement your singing study, I ask that you please return them at or before our final lesson together.
